William Sillin painted this arial view of the Oxbow as it looks today for the Beneski Museum of Natural History. It is a companion piece to his painting showing this same scene during the Jurassic period, when the dinosaur footprints were created. The two paintings hang near each other, allowing one to compare the same landscape during two very different periods of history. (Please see the "Dinosaurs in the Valley" slideshow to view the Jurassic landscape painting.)
