Even Orra Is Ill in Scotland

July 28, Sabb.

Ill myself this morning instead of my husband. Thought however I would not be kept from meeting for it, & by recommendation of two Irish ladies with whom we breakfasted as well as many others, found our way . . .  We got in though & stood during a very long prayer & then concluded to go away not feeling adequate to the fatigue of standing through a whole long Scotch service, especially as we ascertained by the prayer that it was communion day & we undertook to squeeze ourselves out but were met by Mr. Hugh Miller . . . & he very kindly gave us his seat. But the house was so crammed as to make the air very bad & my illness increased so much that I feared I should faint & we succeeded in getting out & the fresh air somewhat relieved me & went home to bed & lay there most part of the day. . . .
