The New American Practical Navigator, Nathaniel Bowditch

Nathaniel Bowditch (1773-1838) was an astronomer and mathematician. The New American Practical Navigator was the most popular book on navigation during the first half of the 19th century. Approximately 60 editions were printed and it was used by the U.S. Navy.
