   The comet is now a little below the tail of Ursa Major.  The tail of the comet increases in length and splendour.  The head is indistinct, though less so than when first seen.

  The tail of the comet measured this night nearly 15 degrees.  It is very resplendant in the absence of the moon.  A convexity is now distinguishable on the south side of it.  The head is indistinct
