               I see no way but the new calf must be fattened- though I hate to have him killed. I wish we could sell or give him away- By the way I presume that before I get home you will receive from the rail road a very curious double  calf or rather his skin He has eight legs two heads & c- & was given to the college by M^r Jones of Newburyport you will find also a curious fish or two & the cast of a large bone of a megatherium from the N. W. coast of America-
