I enjoyed my visit at Cin. with the exception of the severe cold which I was not prepared to meet. Kate & her husband are pleasantly situated & seem to be filling a sphere of usefulness.

Your uncle’s exposures have greatly increased his cough which is at present very severe- otherwise we are all pretty well- my own health improved, notwithstanding some hard-ships.

I have heard nothing from Deerfield since my return.  Capt. Billings’ death you have doubtless heard of-& more particulars I dare say than I have- our children were not able to attend the funeral.

Please remember me very affectionately to your husband & Mrs. Childs family & excuse this scrawl of a letter

    from your affectionate aunt
