Elihu Dwight

1763 - 1854

Elihu Dwight (1763-1854) practiced medicine in South Hadley, Massachusetts. He purchased the tracks that Pliny Moody found and 30 years later, sold them to Edward Hitchcock. Dwight's home was eventually donated to Mount Holyoke College and Dwight Hall now stands on that site.

Elihu's son, John Dwight, was a co-founder (with his brother-in-law) of the Arm & Hammer Baking Soda Company.
