This is an excerpt from a sermon delivered by Edward Hitchcock in Conway, Massachusetts, on the topic of the 10th chapter of Romans in the Bible. A true Calvinist, he warns that a "correct doctrinal faith is necessary to render a man's zeal acceptable to God . . . the man . . . who seeks justification by depending at all on his own righteousness has a zeal destitute of knowledge. . ."
